Charter Support Organizations (CSO’s) have a standard independent, non-profit organizational framework in common and exist in most states active in the charter school movement. However, CSO’s do vary in capacity and form state by state with some serving specific communities or the entire state as membership organizations for the variety of stakeholders including schools, authorizers or boards. We at the Institute recognize the important role that CSOs hold in advocating for and supporting quality charter schools.
