“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘what are you doing for others?’”  - Martin Luther King, Jr.

We all play an important role in our communities. By getting involved and helping others around us, we not only help make our community stronger but we also better ourselves. We learn to work as a team, see a bigger picture of the world, and give hope and inspiration to others. Great leaders build up those around them.

At the Institute, we work hard every day to make sure Michigan’s charter schools have the right support to get results for kids. There’s nothing more inspiring than hearing our students’ stories directly from them. We want to inspire them to achieve more than they thought possible. That’s why we’re proud to sponsor this competition.

This year, we have gotten to read many inspirational stories from charter school students all over Michigan, sharing how they are impacting their communities and the people around them.
